Miramar, FL – (October, 2009) – Wireless Maritime
Services (WMS), the world leader in providing cellular service to
the cruise line and ferry industry, announced today that they have
signed a contract with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCCL) to
provide their CrewzFöne service for crew members on all Royal
Caribbean International, Celebrity and Azamara cruise ships.
The WMS CrewzFöne service provides RCCL crew members the ability to
use their cell phones while at sea to make calls at discounted
rates. The added benefit of the service is that it will also allow
crew members to receive calls, and send and receive text messages,
from family and friends around the world.
In order to access the system crew members use their unlocked cell
phones and purchase a SIM card. Each SIM card gives the crew member
their own unique phone number. Top up credits and the SIM cards can
be purchased from the POS machine onboard each ship. The system is
active only when the ship is at sea away from port.
